People management

This Skill does not concern a "Manager Skill".

For the moment I have never managed a team but I remember a situation I had to wear this cloth temporary, by necessity.

It was during the organisation of my first DRP and the D-day as it was concerning the biggest datacenter (around 1500 assets). We were 3 in my team to take care of the failover. We received a lot of incidents this day and the pressure was all around us.

One of my team mate was really stressed as more and more tickets were coming in our basket due to an incident he was blocked with.

I asked him the state of incident resolution then adviced him to take a pause to free his mind then we can check together.

The result was we found the solution after the pause he took and we were able to finish the Failover with success for our team in the delay.

I learned this day that without this intervention, we may weren't be able to finish the whole exercise.

It's important to communicate with team mates and eventually exchange tasks or bring a ne regard on the blocking point to accelerate its fix.

In D2-SI I interviewed multiple people to join our company. I had the role of technical validator. I remind to interview a person in order to substitute myself at the end of my BNP Paribas mission. It's not easy to have an opinion of a person we don't know in 30 minutes but I learned to ask precises and efficient question to have an idea of the person I'm speaking.
